Poetiquette - UK and Seasoned
Formed back in 2003, Poetiquette released their first three 12s as 'Rare Unit' on the Kwaito Recordings label. Since then, now signed to Artizan Music, the 8 piece group has developed considerably into a collective of seasoned musicians. With a veteran rhythm section boasting drummer Toby Goodman (Kid Creole & The Coconuts/ Anna Krantz) and bassist Pete Billington (Alison Moyet/ Jamie Cullum), the outfit calls upon a rich musical heritage and diversity, something that contributes greatly to both their live sets and studio works. At the helm, Djs Andy Touchfingers and Jafar produce and write the tracks that Andy then transposes for the whole band comprising Hannah Khemoh, Deborah Clarke and Kai Adams-Lambert on Vocals, Toby Goodman on drums, Pete Billington on Bass, Adam Buckell on guitar, whilst Jafar jumps on dex and efx and Andy on lead keys and BV's. Its an arresting sight and audiences have responded incredibly well to their tight fusion of live neo-soul, jazz-funk, hip-hop, broken-beat and deep and soulful house. Dj Mag's Simon Morrison had this to say when he joined Poetiquette on their National tour of Poland: 'The Band were tight as twins, the rhythm smooth, solid and dependable enough for the other instruments to take off on their own abstract, tangential journeys; The gorgeous diva Hannah out front, shaking the very walls with her vocals. Sublime' Check out the first of their two full length studio albums available now on Artizan Music.
