Juanita has a very diverse background and many talents

JUANITA is a multi-faceted individual. She has a very diverse background as a singer, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate. As an entertainer for many years, her repertoire includes dancing, modeling, and singing. She has appeared in several music showcases, fashion shows, music videos, magazines, and was a finalist in the Miss Black World New York State Modeling and Beauty Pageant. Originally from New York, JUANITA has performed her original music, as well as covers across the US and abroad and refers to her musical style as Sophisticated S-O-U-L; a fusion of R&B, Soul, and Jazz.

Always pushing herself and striving for excellence, JUANITA incorporates all of her passions and creative talents. She also holds dual degrees in Human Services: Mental Health and Marketing, and is the former co-founder of G&J Consulting Services, a successful creative services firm.

In addition, JUANITA has received rave reviews and industry accolades for her music, positive energy, empowerment anthems, soulful performances, as well as awards for her community service and support of various charitable organizations.

As a spokesperson and member of the African American Advisory Council for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), JUANITA was one of the main forces behind developing a successful outreach initiative, AACT-NOW!, and she facilitated a support group for the program.

JUANITA continues her mental health mission and has been instrumental in the fight against stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. In addition, she is a very sought-after speaker and is active with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). She helped coordinate Out of the Darkness Community Walks to raise money for new programs, education, and research for suicide prevention.

She will be releasing a new single January 2012, and it will be featured on a Women in Jazz Compilation CD: Volume II. Her current JUANITA CD is available now.

"There will be many roadblocks and detours on your journey, but you have the power to choose your path!" -JUANITA
