About the Author
Known to radio listeners as MC Marcus Chapman, the author of the "Sex Time And Radio" series was born & raised on Chicago's south east side. He began his radio career in 1992 at WKDI in DeKalb, Illinois while attending Northern Illinois University. Upon graduating in 1995 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree and a minor in Black Studies, Chapman became the youngest employee at WGCI; Chicago's #1 radio station at that time. He joined the staff of on-air personalities in 1996; a staff that produced nationally renowned alumni such as Tom Joyner, Doug Banks, Steve Harvey, and BET voiceover talent Rick Party. In 1997 Chapman began building a significant following through his Friday night/Saturday morning show called "The Afterset", and made himself memorable to listeners by using a sound bite of legendary actress Eartha Kitt saying "Marcus darling" from the Eddie Murphy film Boomerang.

By the summer of 1999, MC was the host of WGCI's two hottest weekend shows and the city's number one weekly party. Chapman was then hired by Indianapolis radio station WTLC as host of their nightly 6 to 10 show. While helping WTLC achieve #1 ratings at night, Chapman garnered attention from stations in various cities around the country.

After nearly landing in Washington DC, Miami, Philadelphia, and Raleigh, North Carolina, MC was hired by Dallas-Ft. Worth's legendary KKDA, alias K104. The new team Marcus joined included Rock T, who is currently a member of the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show. This was also the station where Tom Joyner earned his nickname "The Fly Jock" by hosting mornings in Dallas while doing afternoons on WGCI in Chicago, thus making Chapman the first personality since Joyner to work at both legendary stations.

MC returned to Chicago and WGCI from the fall of 2002 until spring 2004. During that time he also worked as a music researcher for the radio data company Mediabase. Chapman used his experience as an air talent, music collector, and music historian to help Mediabase accurately track the daily playlists of numerous urban stations throughout the country. This reported data was used to compile weekly charts for the industry magazine Radio & Records. After nearly being hired by stations in Los Angeles and Atlanta, Marcus re-joined the WGCI air staff for a third and final time in 2006. In 2008 he relocated from Chicago to Atlanta where he now resides, and was heard several times on that city's #1 station WVEE (V103) in 2008 and 2010.
