SPOTLIGHT: Samantha Cardwell - ATL NeoGospel![]() Samantha is the youngest girl of nine children, that hail from the midwest (Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas) and grew up surrounded by music. Every sibling has a musical talent and family reunions always result in a musical jubilee. Her father, now a Baptist minister, played trumpet and sang blues in the night clubs of Kansas City. She would sit in on his practice sessions during the week and listen to her grandmother sing church hymns during her Sunday visits with her on the weekends. At age 5, she began studying the piano, and later, the violin, trombone and baritone. In college, she entered and studied two years as a Performing Arts major before changing to Business Admnistration, citing "that I want to perform, but I also want to eat!" as her rationale. Never losing the desire for the arts, she went to law school, and sang in night clubs and at social events while trying to maintain her studies, always finding herself drawn to the art and music aspects of the law, with courses like Sports and Entertainment Law. Now a successful corporate attorney, she still embraces her first love of music, continuing to write and express her vocal talent as a praise and worship leader each week in worship services at her church, Christ the King Baptist Church located in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. http://www.scardwellmusic.com -- #127 Posted on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 -- All News | About | Bios | Events | Features | Newsletters Poems | Spotlights | Videos ![]() |
